    Great deck
L - US Games Centennial, R - Da Brigh OriginalI own the pocket centennial deck but wanted a full size version of the RWS deck. Decided to purchase this one because it has no copyright on the cards and has a linen finish. The colors are more muted than the standard US Games version, but more vibrant than the centennial (which is still my favorite coloring).- The vector art does take away some of the original linework, but not to a degree that I'd say detracts from the art. I also prefer the texture of the solid colors from the centennial edition, but untextured backgrounds are pretty common in most versions of the deck so it's not a big deal.- The lack of copyright on the cards is a HUGE plus and was the only reason why I didn't buy the full size centennial edition.- I LOVE the linen finish. It's really nice on the hands, but may or may not be a dealbreaker for you because it is visually noticeable (especially in the light). I personally very much prefer the tactile feeling. The finish also diffuses a bit of glare.- The cardstock is fairly thick and sturdy. It's hard to riffle shuffle with a full deck and you'll likely have to split the deck for any type of shuffling that requires flexibility. It's also not for small hands like mine, but that applies to all full-size tarot decks, haha.- The booklet is pretty hefty for a LWB. Bonus points for the full color print. Some of the negative reviews are likely outdated. The deck doesn't feel like a knockoff at all and the quality is better than some other decks I've owned.

I love how smooth it is when shuffling and spreading. Also the illustration are great. I would’ve liked have some hints of gold foiled but I guess since it is the classic version they left it as the original version. Overall it is a great quality classic tarot. 👍

This is the RWS deck I have been looking for.

The colors are neither as garish as the yellow-box Rider nor as gloomy as the Centennial Rider-Waite. The colors of the Radiant and Universal are beautiful, and I often refer to those cards when I want to make out small details, but... while calling them cartoonish would be going too far, they do seem somewhat lifeless to me. The line work of this deck quite crisp, but it retains the "earthy" feel of cannonical decks like the Centennial and yellow-box Rider.

The card backs are symmetrical and have a really nice antique look.

The card stock is terrific. The cards have a very tactile linen finish and essentially no glare. The stock is thick and sturdy: the deck is close to a quarter inch thicker than a typical US Games deck.

The lettering is Smith's hand-drawn characters, rather than a typeface, and... (drumroll please), no copyright symbol on the card faces!

The enclosed guidebook is well made and well written, with color images of every card. It's a clear step up of from a typical little white book.

I think the deck is essentially perfect. I can't think of anything to change or improve.

I have bought many RWS decks and this is one of the best I have gotten so far. Colors are nice. They've managed to throw in some interesting and different shades throughout. The detail is nice and they have a great feel to them. If you always had a hard time seeing the King of Pentacles robe because of overprinting then you will appreciate how he looks now. I'm cool with the backs. Nice and simple. The booklet is thick and it will have to go along in with the cards so not to make extra room but hey, I'm Impressed!

I bought this deck because I wanted a traditional Tarot deck since Tarot books usually talk about the classic deck. I am pleased with the art work and card stock. I don't actually use the deck much for readings because I find the symbolism more opaque than icn some more modern decks. Since I am fairly new to Tarot and still learning, I find it useful to study the same card from several decks: this traditional deck and two modern decks. Light Seers Tarot and Angel Wisdom Tarot. I find the symbolism much easier to grasp in the more modern decks, but I do find that by comparing the same card from all three decks and reading the booklets from all three as well as the Tarot books I am learning from that I get a deeper understanding of the card regardless of the deck it is from. In that sense, I find the Original Tarot Deck useful and valuable for me.

I had the Rider Waite many years ago as a kid, and decided I needed a Tarot deck again, so found this one for a crazy low price. The cards are way better than the 14$ price suggests, made with a nice stock, a non-distracting and sharp linen finish. The colours are rich but not garish, and there are no copyright marks etc. on the pristine cards. Comes with a nice little 90-page mini guide that neatly fits in the deck box with the cards. The corner of 1 card seems to have begun to peel a tiny bit. hence 1 less star. A great refresher or beginner guide to interpreting the cards. Highly recommend.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best Rider-Waite release.
Reviewed in Canada on November 8, 2020
This Rider-Waite tarot deck is among the best versions available on the market today.
I have been collecting Tarots for over 25 years and own many versions of the Rider-Waite-Smith.
Despite the fact that this version is a Chinese counterfeit, I think that contrary to some previous comments, I find this tarot deck very solid and very rich in color. It might not be a "historic" Rider-Waite version like, say, the Centennial Edition, but it's still very fun to use.
Being like I said above a Chinese counterfeit, it is absolutley collectible. A very rare version that did not come out of U.S. Games system!
